Justice (noun): just behaviour or treatment; the quality in being fair or reasonable; the administration of the law or authority in maintaining this.
All activism is essentially based in some form of "justice" – a very broken system. For example, gender equality ("justice" for women and their rights) exists on paper in many countries including Canada, but it's far from actual equality (eg. women workers in Canada earned an average of 69 cents for every dollar earned by men in 2016*). That's just one of endless examples of tangible inequality.
Take a moment to think about the intangible and unseen repercussions of crime. Even after a heinous criminal is found guilty and sent to prison (not to mention the mass amount of criminals who get off with sentences unbelievably light for their crimes), their victim(s) is still left with irreversible scars & trauma – if they're lucky enough to be alive.
Justice does not exist.
It is my passion on this topic that drove this project and my designs. Below are 7 of my most successful posters.
